Flowers for my wedding

Forcing to scale back celebrations due to a global pandemic is tricky. Couples are getting creative.  Backyard nuptials and elopements are more popular.  SAY our “I do’s” in front of a few family members,  then have the large party later.  Now more then ever, couples are on a budget.  Having not one…but two celebrations can be daunting.   Select professionals to help with decision making.   Event planners, small venues, B and B’s, photographers, and music specialists.  Don’t overlook floral decorations!  Find a florist who will be available for both celebrations.  Use seasonal flowers and utilize rentals, such as silk flowers, arches, and signs.  Some professionals will even offer a multi event discount.

If you getting married this coming Fall, you’ve probably been planning your wedding before all of this craziness with social distancing starting happening!  Natural color schemes and rustic gallerings are still very prominent!  Backyard garden scapes and rustic barns are still hot.  Scaled back greenery and muted golds, peaches, and champagnes…taupe dresses and fabrics to drap the ceremony.   Finding looks that include seasonal flowers will keep your cost down.  When it comes to flowers for your bridal party and the ceremony framing such as arches, aisle ways, and entrances into the back aisle…DO NOT SKIMP!  Repurpose as much as you can when it comes to aisle pieces.  It you use mason jars down the aisle, reuse them for the cocktail hour or on the table with candles, etc.  If you like the look of garden roses, use them in bridal party flowers and use standard roses throughout the ceremony and reception.   They are more costly of a rose and you will appreciate them in the bouquets more when you see your pictures.    Deep fall colors will always be something attractive for fall brides.  Make sure you find all options for flowers available during the fall season.  Locally grown flowers are usually your best option and most Florist will use local if possible.  Plan ahead and do your homework!  Happy planning!

Heading into the 5th year of business. I’m reminding how amazing it has been to have such a wonderful place to design my flowers.  I can’t tell you how  simply beautiful of a space it is to work from and how lovely the country side.  When I pull up to my front door, its like being on a farm.  Deer, chipmunks, squirrels, and even a calf has ran by my studio doors.  The couples that I’ve had a pleasure to work with as well as the staff at The Morningside Inn.  They have helped to grow my business into the amazing special event florist its blossomed into TODAY!  I’m beyond grateful of all the amazing clients that I’ve grown close to along this fabulous journey.

Even with all the rustic barn venues, I’ve found that brides are seeking family homes as a place to take their vows.  With that said, the country and  woodsy look is wildly popular.  They seem to go hand in hand with the looser and full bouquet.  With an occasional bride seeking some pops of color, the pale colors continue to be a favorite, such as ivory, peaches, blushes, and natural soft colored greenery.
